Friday Faves

Can I just say that I loved almost every one of the “I’m the kind of girl who” posts? Every one I read had an amazing mixture of funny and seriousness while leaving me thinking “preach, sister” or “and I thought I was the only one who did/thought that.” Which I think means we should just accept the fact that each of us are certifiably insane and stop being so hard on ourselves.

If you are new to blog reading, you picked a good week to start. There were so many great posts this week. Allow me to introduce you to them…

Erin from Two Thirds Hazel came up with this amazing new idea called Blogcation. It’s a blogging conference on a cruise ship. Let me repeat. THIS IS A BLOGGING CONFERENCE ON A CRUISE SHIP. Blogging friends + learning more about successful bloggers + sun + sand + a drink in my hand = the best idea ever.

If you haven’t been reading along with Kim from Travel Babbles’ struggles to conceive, you should start. Her post this week broke my heart. This is another one of those examples of when my nature is to “change the channel” and ignore her pain to spare my own heartache, but she deserves more. This is a real struggle I could very well experience and I can’t believe how brave she is, sharing it with us.

I think I’ve read this post by Eat Drink Pretty about the place we are honeymooning at least 10 times. Believe me, I was beyond excited for this already, but reading such a detailed review of the resort from a blogger, instead of watching the promo video they sent me 100 more times, just really made me that much more excited. How could I not be with views like this? 212 days!

I fully plan to make these nachos from Iowa Girl Eats as soon as these engagement pictures are over. I plan to eat EVERYTHING once these pictures are over, but that is another story for another day.

Last but not least, I loved this outfit from Sophistifunk. Outfits like this are totally my style. Not too matchy (they are telling me this isn’t a word, but I say it is) or too serious. Now if I could just like the way my feet look in loafers…

I’m off to impatiently wait for a text from my bestie who is finding out the gender of her baby this morning! Have a great weekend, everyone!

You’re so sweet. Thank you for your kind words. I share my story because I know that others are in my shoes, and because another woman could easily find herself in the same pair soon. xoxo
