If you are still looking for the perfect gift for your bestie, pregnant sister, any other basic female, or even yours truly 😉 …today’s post is for you!

I’m a fairly practical gift-wisher (I’m making that a thing). I don’t regularly buy myself a lot so I like to make it count and ask for practical and affordable things, even for Christmas – which I know is different from other people’s philosophy! Either way is great but basically what I’m trying to get at here is that basically everything here is less than $50, which makes anything here perfect for almost anyone on your list!! Happy shopping :)

christmas 2015 wishlist

1. J. Crew Moccasins | Because my free VS slippers from two years ago are looking rough! Only to be worn in the house husband, I promise.

2. J. Crew Pom Hat | Super, super obsessed with pom hats! Love this J. Crew one but any will do. Now, if it will only get cold in Southern Indiana.

3. Old Navy Maternity Workout Tee | This bump is growing and my workout clothes are not. Old t-shirts have been on a much heavier rotation than normal.

4. Old Navy Maternity Compression Pants | See above.

5. AEO Draped Sweater | I’ve been lusting over this sweater for a while! Perfect for my main wardrobe staple these days…my Blanqi leggings.

6. H&M MAMA Skinny Jeans | I’ve heard good things about these H&M maternity jeans! That’s rare so I’d like to give them a shot.

7. H&M MAMA Sweatshirt Dress | Because as long as this post is, I’m still pregnant.

8. 18′ Clear Barcelona Vase | I’ve been lusting over these for a while but haven’t pulled the trigger.

9. White Velvet Plum Blossoms | For my new vases, duh.

10. Halogen Olsen Flat | I have had serious FOMO since everyone else on earth purchased these flats during Nordstrom’s Friends and Family sale. I happen to know these are already under my grandparent’s tree waiting for me, hooray!

11. Gray Monroe Ryann Bootie | A great knockoff of these Sam Edelman ones I’m obsessed with for less than 1/4 of the price! Luckily, I know these are already under my own tree because Santa’s Grey Monroe package got delivered to my front door 😉

12. Anthropologie Monogram Pendant Necklace | Because you have to have a few things that are completely not practical, just fun!

13. 11×14 Hello Cocky! Print | Even though I mentioned it eons ago in this post, I’m still obsessed with it for my office and haven’t bought it yet.

14. Seriously Delish Cookbook | Jess of How Sweet Eats is my idol. I need her cookbook, like STAT.

Happy Shopping! Linking up with Katie and Kristen.

Oh hiiiii. Long time no talk, friends! Going from a week-long business trip, to Thanksgiving, right into my busiest time at work and woof, your girl is barely keeping up! Which means fun stuff like blogging goes on the back burner…whomp whomp.

Since it’s been a minute (and I’ve actually been feeling like a normal person since hitting the second trimester so we’ve actually left the house) I thought I’d do a mini life lately today! Here’s what we’ve been up to:

I love this time of year for many, many reasons but one of the main ones is that I can usually count on some good movies coming out in theaters! Over the past few weeks we have seen I Love the Coopers and the newest Hunger Games. I Love The Coopers was just ok,  I definitely had my hopes up that I would love it and I was really underwhelmed by it. The Hunger Games was the exact opposite. I hated the last book – I almost didn’t finish it! So I had low expectations for the movie and ended up loving it! Have you all seen either of these? What did you think?

You may have seen my Instagram post about these prints yesterday, but if not they are from Inkdot and were supposed to be a Christmas gift to me from Nathan but he couldn’t wait that long to give them to me, he was too excited! So adorable. Him and the prints 😉 The bottom one miiiight be the only printed engagement photo in our entire house. Maybe.

We spent Thanksgiving morning/afternoon with my mom (and the world’s largest dinner rolls) then packed up and headed to Chattanooga to be with my dad’s side of the family. 18 total people including grandparents, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins all under the same roof made for a great time! We hiked, ate lots more yummy food (Public House is a must if you are in the area!), and got to check out the aquarium. So much fun!
Thanksgiving 2015 Collage

I didn’t get around to a full bumpdate post this week but I still managed to get a photo of my belly! Not a huge change this week from last except that things seem to have shifted up a little more – which I am defintely feeling around my lungs! Every once in a while my breath will catch, which is no big deal but kind of freaks Nathan out lol. Other than that I am feeling great and about the same as last week. We had our 15 week appointment last week and everything went great. We find out who is in there December 23rd!! Best Christmas gift ever? I think so.
14-15 week Collage

Did you all watch The Wiz last night? What did you think? We loved it!! The sets were far better than any of the other NBC productions and the cast was great! So star studded but Neyo (Tin Man) and Shanice Williams (Dorothy) absolutely killed it! There is always backlash and nay-sayers after these performances but I really don’t know what they will be able to say bad about this one.

Hope you all have the best weekend!

Guys. I’m so behind on my Christmas gifts. Like, I’m starting to get really nervous because I would usually have a good portion of stuff bought, or um, at least have thought about what I’m getting people at this point. I have purchased one gift. O-N-E. Cue the freaking out. I blame this baby in my belly taking up all my mental energy 😉

So when I heard about Shopbop’s Buy More, Save More sale it couldn’t not have come a better time! Now through next Monday they are taking 15% off orders of $250 and 25% off orders of $500 with the code GOBIG15. You better believe I made a niiice dent in my Christmas list during this sale and I rounded up some of the most tried and true Christmas gifts for women that will be on sale this weekend. Bonus: Every single thing is well under $100!

Fall 2015 Book Reviews

This is the perfect time of year to cozy up on the couch and catch up on your reading. I’ve read a lot of good books lately so I’m sharing my thoughts on them with you today!

fall 2015 book review

The Vacationers by Emma Straub (1/5 Stars)
Honestly, I couldn’t really get into this book. I stopped and started it several times and in the end I didn’t even finish it. There was so much hype around this book so my expectations might have been too high, but I really couldn’t even tell you what the official story line was here. A messed up family goes on vacation together…annnd 3/4 of the way through the book nothing had happened. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes (5/5)
LOVED this book. Actually I want to reread it again now that I’m thinking about it. This book has had a lot of hype surrounding it too but for good reason! A small town girl loses her job and goes to work as a caretaker to a local, young quadriplegic. He is super depressed when they meet due to his situation (obvs) and she tries a lot of different things to try to snap him out of it. This is a MUST read.

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins (4/5)
Another book that has gotten a ton of hype this year and it was pretty good! A lady rides the same train every day, watches a particular house that she passes and makes up stories about the couple that lives there. One day, something happens to one of the people in the house and she inserts herself into the investigation. I would say if you liked Gone Girl, but you thought it was a little much you would really like this book!

Baby Proof by Emily Giffin (4/5)
Whoops! Took a picture of the wrong book. I almost gave this book 5 stars – I really liked it! I always forget how much I like Emily’s books. This one is about a married couple who has been on the same page about how many kids they want to have (hint: It’s none) until one of them changes their mind.

Winter Stroll by Elin Hilderbrand (4/5)
I love Christmas themed books this time of year! This is actually a sequel to Winter Street – which is also great, and you should read that first because it definitely builds off of the drama from the first book. These books are about a family-run inn on Nantucket Island during the Christmas holiday with family drama abounding. Great, quick reads!

The Good Girl by Mary Kubica (3/5)
I didn’t technically read this book, I listened to it on audio, so that may have changed my opinion on it slightly. It was really hard to keep up with the shifting past and present of the story. Other than that, it was pretty good! The Good Girl is about a girl who gets kidnapped one night but her life with her captor is not what you would expect. It’s definitely worth a read!

Have you read any of these books? What have you guys been reading lately? Let me know in the comments!

baby 1 14 weeks EDITED

Week 14

How far along: 14 weeks

Size of Baby: A lemon

Gender: We don’t know yet, but can not wait to find out

Movement: Not yet but hopefully any day now

Weight Gain: +3

Sleep: Doing much better! Still waking up a few times a night to switch from hip to hip (side to side is what a normal person would say probably) and use the bathroom. But overall, 50x better! Disclaimer: I also had a nice hotel bed to myself all week because I was out of town for a business trip so that might have helped 😉

Workouts: Fail. Well, sort of! I worked one day at the hotel gym and then two days I walked around a trade show floor for 6+ hours so…I’m counting that.

Maternity Clothes: I’m on the hunt for some great maternity leggings. I’ve exhausted all of my local options so I’m heading online. Anyone have any advice?

Symptoms: My hunger is back in full force, that’s for sure! A little lower back pain if I’m on my feet for too long but nothing unmanageable. The worst thing right now is probably breast tenderness (sorry if that’s TMI) but if that is the worst part of my day I’ll take it!

Cravings/Aversions: Nothing specific that I can think of. Carbs in general have been really doing it for me lately though – can not get enough! But that’s not that out of character :)

Missing Most: I really, really missed caffeine this week. I didn’t think I relied on it much before I was pregnant (a cup of coffee in the morning and maybe a soda once a week in the afternoon) but now that I actually get tired in the afternoon I could really use it! I don’t mind doing a little everyday but I could honestly use an IV of it!

Nursery: Apparently, we have made a decision and I didn’t know it! To be honest I had my mind made up but didn’t think we had already decided. Luckily, our decision was the same as mine 😉

Nathan: Missed “me and the baby” while I was on my trip this week. Insert all of the heart eyed emojis here. Love that guy.

Best Part of the Week: Beginning to look obviously pregnant. Several people noticed…and commented lol. Which is funny but I really didn’t mind!

Can’t Wait For: Seeing our babe at our ultrasound this coming week!

I can’t wait to see what you all have been up to! Linking up with Biana, Meg, Bella, Erin,  Carly, Carylee, and Rachelle.
