Amen. The best way to sum up week 13 “OMG I HAVE SO MUCH ENERGY – ANNND THERE IT GOES.”

Week 13

How far along: 13 weeks!

Size of Baby: Peach

Gender: We don’t know yet, but can not wait to find out!

Movement: Too early

Weight Gain: Nothing yet!

Sleep: Hit an all time low last week because of my lower back pain, so I finally broke down and called the chiropractor. Best decision I’ve made in a looong time. My pain is almost non-existent! Insert praise Jesus emoji hands here. I’m still generally uncomfortable sleeping on my side instead of my back, but what can you do.

Workouts: Slacked a little on these this week because it was super busy with work and cheer. Oh, and it was freaking COLD in the morning and by the afternoon my energy/motivation is just not there.

Maternity Clothes: Made a few more purchases this week but haven’t had to actually use them yet. It won’t be long now though, this belly is getting bigger by the day I think!

Symptoms: I really feel so much better this week. So much better that I could (and have) cry because I feel so much better. Yeah. So that’s two symptoms. I had almost zero nausea this week (only when I failed to eat at the correct time) and only get really tired maybe once throughout the day. Which is a huge step up from being so tired I could take a nap from sun-up to sun-down.

Cravings/Aversions: Still have zero desire to drink or smell coffee. I’m sure there are other aversions but nothing consistent. Craving sugar like never before! Trying not to give in to that one very often, though.

Missing Most: HIIT workouts. A good sweat with heavy breathing and feeling like I might pass out with no guilt! That is obviously frowned upon now! Oh, and a deli turkey sandwich.

Nursery: Lol. We still need to decide which room we are going to use! Office or man cave? I’m definitely leaning towards office right now…and then moving said office to the man cave. Sorry babe!

Nathan: I don’t think he will never forget the lesson he learned this week and it’s certainly not one that needs to be documented on the internet 😉

Best Part of the Week: A few things:
1) Settling on first and middle names for a boy and a girl!
2) Just generally feeling better! I’m going on a week-long business trip next week and I was really worried about how I would be able to handle it, but my energy is really up and I’m really encouraged. God’s timing, I’ll tell ya. I’m so grateful!
3) Having multiple conversations with Trey (my co-workers son who is 5) at work about the baby. He likes to bring “the baby” treats (Starbucks cakepops & Dove chocolate – heck yeah!) and at some point I said “Thank you so much for bringing that for me. That was so sweet of you” to which he responded “It wasn’t for you Wachel, it was for the baby!” So sorry :) He also came into the office another day and said “Uhhh, where’s the baby?!” It’s going to be a long six months for that guy!

Can’t Wait For: Finding out who is in there in (hopefully) just a few more weeks!

Pregnancy Week 9 – 11

Week 9

How far along: 9 weeks!

Size of Baby: Green Olive

Gender: We don’t know yet, but can not wait to find out!

Movement: Too early

Weight Gain: None that I’ve noticed yet, but I don’t weigh myself regularly yet. I did lose a couple pounds last week while on vacation because I just can’t stomach eating very much.

Sleep: Has been so much better this week! I’m still waking up about twice a week to pee around 2-3:00 AM and then can not go back to sleep for almost an hour. But I am beginning to wake up naturally at my normal time (5:15ish) instead of having to drag myself out of bed around 6:15/6:30. So I consider that a big improvement! I still get incredibly tired around 3:00 PM every day and if I’m not able to lay down at that point (aka Monday thru Friday when I’m at work) I am DEAD tired by 7:00 PM.

Workouts: Still taking our dog on long walks (sometimes two) every day. I’m really going to try to be better next week now that I am feeling a little better and we have stopped traveling for a few weeks (which has been very, very hard).

Maternity Clothes: I got a BeBand from Target this week. All of my pants still button but do get a little uncomfortably tight around the middle certain parts of the day. It kind of just smooths everything out and actually makes me feel very…secure (?) around my middle since I feel like everyone is staring right at my belly. Even though hardly anyone knows so they surely aren’t, HA. I also ordered a few maturity things from Old Navy this week because they were having a great sale!

Symptoms: All day nausea, especially right before it is time to actually have a meal. No physical sickness at all yet though. Super tired as I mentioned before. And…I can’t go to the bathroom. Ever. Which is probably the worst of the three.

Cravings/Aversions: No cravings. As for aversions – basically everything but most notably eggs (don’t even talk to me about them), yogurt, anything with a “strong” odor (mainly spicy smells but also coffee which is SO sad), and the list goes on. I barely WANT to eat anything at all, but as soon as I am truly hungry (which only happens 2-3 times a week) I have to eat RIGHT NOW. I have found the true feeling of hanger since being pregnant.

Missing Most: Just feeling like my “normal” self with plenty of energy.

Nursery: Lol. We still need to decide which room we are going to use! Office or man cave?

Nathan: Had to learn a few “we (you) do not say that” lessons this week. Such as referring to the baby as going to be big or small.

Best Part of the Week: Telling the rest of my siblings they are going to be aunts & uncles and how thrilled they all were!

Can’t Wait For: Our three month doctor’s appointment on the 27th!

Week 10

How far along: 10 weeks!

Size of Baby: Prune

Gender: We don’t know yet, but can not wait to find out!

Movement: Too early

Weight Gain: Lost even more weight this week (just a few pounds). I still don’t have a huge appetite in general, I’m not drinking coffee every morning and an adult beverage several times a week either, so I’m sure that is contributing too.

Sleep: I’ve been waking up almost every night at least once to go to the bathroom. I’m also making a real effort to not sleep on my back (my favorite!) so that has been pretty uncomfortable. My dreams are out of this world crazy though!! I had a dream I lost the baby one night this week (woke up in a full blown panic attack and hysterically cried for several minutes before I calmed down) and to make it a little less serious…we were at Jurassic Park when I found out! Talk about strange.

Workouts: Still just took long walks every morning and that’s about all I have energy for right now. I hear this gets better after the first trimester and we are almost there!

Maternity Clothes: I got sucked in to the Pink Blush website a few times this week but didn’t pull the trigger on anything! I’m still fitting in all of my normal clothes for the most part.

Symptoms: We’ve figured out the bathroom situation (insert Praise Jesus hands emoji here) but I’m still steady nauseated all day long. This week we added extreme, nightly gas that is just about the most embarrassing thing I’ve every gone through. Poor Nathan.

Cravings/Aversions: Nothing has sounded better to eat than mac ‘n cheese! I did give in to that once this week for lunch. I am definitely finally getting HUNGRY at 7 AM, 11 AM, sometime in the afternoon, and around 6 PM. Like, HOLY HUNGER that I’ve never felt before. When I’m not hungry, I’m nauseous so I pretty much eat whatever I can at those points, but planning meals is very, very hard.

Nursery: Lol. We still need to decide which room we are going to use! Office or man cave?

Nathan: Was a real life saver this week! Once I am home, the dog is taken care of, and dinner is made I am d-e-a-d. He helped me out so much around the house, cooked dinner a couple of nights, and has endured a few hormonal break downs – all in one week 😉

Best Part of the Week: Carving our announcement pumpkins!

Can’t Wait For: Our three month doctor’s appointment next week and telling the world about our precious blessing as long as all goes well!

Week 11

How far along: 11 weeks :)

Size of Baby: A lime

Gender: We don’t know yet, but can not wait to find out!

Movement: Still too early but we definitely SAW the little guy/girl moving around like crazy at our ultrasound this week. I’m not one for the overly cheesy but it was one of the most magical things I’ve ever experienced!

Weight Gain: My weight did not change from last week as of my doctor’s appt. on Tuesday. But that was before I indulged a little bit this weekend. My appetite is back and I took advantage! Reeling it back in this week.

Sleep: What’s sleep? I am now a firm believer that God is teaching me already on how to live on less sleep. THE BACK PAIN. I’m basically awake every hour.

Workouts: Still just took long walks every morning and that’s still about all I have energy for right now. I hear this gets better after the first trimester and we are almost there!

Maternity Clothes: Nothing yet! I returned a few of my Old Navy purchases because I got everything in medium sizes and they were all wayyy too big, and not just in the belly. I need to get serious about what I am going to be able to wear to a week-long work conference in Florida in a few weeks though!!

Symptoms: My sciatic pain is already pretty unpleasant. Especially if I sit or stand for extended periods of time – whiiiiiich happens every day, obviously. I also learned a nice lesson this week in eating when you I am hungry. I had a full on low blood sugar attack on Tuesday night when I waited to long to start making dinner. Let’s just say, I was in tears by the time those fajitas were prepared. Nathan thought I was insane, surely. But I’ve never felt anything like it!

Cravings/Aversions: I haven’t really craved anything yet. I’m just excited to eat again! My egg aversion does seem to have gone away but I still have no desire to drink or smell coffee.

Missing Most: Drinking/wanting to drink coffee. Also, I had to unfollow Palm Breeze on Instagram this weekend because I longed for one after a picture from them showed up in my feed.

Nursery: Lol. We still need to decide which room we are going to use! Office or man cave?

Nathan: Was so excited to come to my first appointment with the doctor this week 😉 I mean, he was excited and loved hearing the heartbeat and seeing the baby on the ultrasound but he was a little awkward during the physical exam. Men :) He is definitely not going to be one of those people filming the birth, lol.

Best Part of the Week: Seeing the baby swimming around like crazy in our ultrasound. The doctor had to work pretty hard to find the heartbeat (which was super scary) because he/she was moving around so much. She had to take some pretty drastic measures to keep him/her still (uhhh, whoa) and Nathan and I both just busted out crying!

Can’t Wait For: Continuing to feel better and better each day/week! There was one day this week where I truly felt like a whole new woman. I had actual energy after work and cheer practice. It didn’t last more than that one day, but it was still glorious! I also did not feel nauseous more than maybe once a day this week which is a huge step.

I should have bump pictures to accompany starting next week :)

If you think November is too early to talk about Christmas, you’ve come to the wrong blog. I’ve held in my excitement for oh, about 3 weeks now and I just can’t take it any more. Thank goodness for Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel. That last sentence basically sums up my day yesterday and I’m not upset about it. Percy and I will be listening to Christmas music on our walk this morning and probably each day from now until Christmas! #notsorry

I’ll stop talking about Christmas now.

Life lately has been…a lot of things. It’s kind of hard to sum up your life when you are pregnant. I go through almost every emotion, feeling, and just general state of being every day at least, if not multiple times per day.

I snapped this photo when we were carving our pregnancy announcement pumpkins last week! My pup, pumpkins waiting to be carved, and The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown – the best kind of fall night!

This cookie? I thought I wanted it. Turns out, I used it for this Instagram picture then wanted nothing to do with it so it got stale in my car and I threw it away. #pregnancyproblems My husband is going to kill me if he reads this because those cookies are his favorite. Sorry, babe!

Halloween 2015 Collage

Ahh, a pregnant Halloween. After waiting around all day (trying not to eat all the candy) we made some yummy food, settled in with A Haunting in Connecticut, and were promptly interrupted by our dog barking his head off every five minutes at the trick-or-treaters! Subdivision life. But really we love seeing all the kids! Plus, several of our favorite little ones stopped by to see us including our Godson – aka the cutest koala bear in all of the land. He was really into photos at this point in the evening, obviously.

One more thing worth mentioning here…I was asleep at 7:30 PM on Halloween. Blame it on the baby, blame it on the fact I was up until almost 1 AM the night before for work, blame it on the fact that I wake up basically every hour during the night because I’m so uncomfortable. Whatever it was I was not upset about it – I’m really trying to listen to my body right now! It’s not just me to think about any more :)

Whoops, I’m going to talk about Christmas again! If you follow me on Snapchat (rachelemily_49) you already know that I am over enthusiastic (<— just spelled that right on the first try!) about the red cups at Starbucks. No desire for a skinny vanilla latte yet but my caramel apple spice did not disappoint!

Thank you so much to those of you who may have commented on my Instagram photo last night! Any mommas reading this now, go check it out if you have an opinion (or need advice!) on the Bump Nest/Snoogle/body pillow while pregnant debate.

My weeks 9-12 updates will be up tomorrow morning! Like, for real. It’s already scheduled :)

I can’t wait to see what you all were up to this weekend! Linking up with Biana, Meg, Bella, Erin,  Carly, Carylee, and Rachelle.

IMG_4715Nathan and I could not be happier to FINALLY announce that we will be adding another Sansing to the family next May!

Keeping the news (mostly) to ourselves has been one of the hardest things this open-book-type-of-girl has ever had to do! It was killing me! Nathan had no problems at all, lol. This also has a lot to do with the almost radio silence from this blog over the last few months. It’s really hard to blog about your life when you can’t blog about the biggest thing effecting your life, so suffice it to say I am thrilled this day has finally come!

IMG_4717To answer a few frequently asked questions:

When are you due?
Right now my due date is on my 28th birthday – May 14th, 2016. Even though I know the chances of the baby being born on that actual day are very slim, as a person who does not love to be the center of attention for almost any reason, I am thrilled to pass along a little of my birthday glory on to our baby!

How far along are you?
I won’t be 12 weeks until Sunday but after hearing the baby’s heart and seeing him/her kicking and swimming around like crazy on an ultrasound this week we felt comfortable sharing our big news a few days early!

How did you find out/tell Nathan?
We had been trying for several  months (I think this was our fourth month) so I took I test right at four weeks that came back negative, then another one around five and a half weeks when things were still up in the air if you know what I mean. That one happened to be one of those fancy tests that tells you about how many weeks along you are (thanks for your hand-me-down pregnancy test Meg!) and it came back as “2-3 weeks Pregnant.” Of course, Nathan was out of town on business this particular day so I had to keep it to myself FOR AN ENTIRE 12 HOURS at least and it was torture. I had been waiting so long to tell him that as soon as he walked in the door from the air port I basically blurted it out at him and he was THRILLED! He only cried a tiny little bit 😉

Will you be finding out the sex?
A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y. I can not wait to plan every single thing that I possibly can before this baby gets here! And I need to be able to call “it” by it’s actual name ASAP.

Do you have names picked out?
We have a girl name that is 100% settled on but have not been able to agree on a boys name yet. And no, I will not tell you what they are until we know the sex of the baby. I have an irrational fear of someone stealing our names.

Are you going to be doing those annoying weekly “bump dates” on the blog?
You bet your bottom dollar I will. Stay tuned for the first few weeks of updates coming at you soon! Ultimately, this blog is to document our life and this pregnancy is a huge part of that so I won’t apologize if you find bump dates boring. Feel free to skip right on over them :)

How have you been feeling?
Not great the last few weeks if we are being honest. All day sickness, followed by all day exhaustion – I go into more about how I was/am feeling in the weekly updates I’ll be posting soon. I will say I am starting to feel back to my normal self more and more each day so… Praise Jesus.

IMG_6041Super blurry but I can’t stop looking at our ultrasound pictures!

I can’t wait to share this whole experience (the good, the bad, and the ugly) with you all! Let me know if I missed any questions you need the answers to :)

Happy Friday, friends! This week has been n-u-t-s and this weekend does not look like it’s going to slow down at all but we’re ready! Sunday we will hopefully have time to slow down, carve our pumpkins, and watch The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (which my husband hates but WILL learn to love…someday). Fingers crossed guys, fingers crossed.

I discovered my new favorite shop for printables this week – Caravan Shoppe! Oh my goodness oh my goodness, I’ll take one of each, please! Next week I should have a fun, seasonal DIY ready to show you guys using their oversize chalkboard prints but for now just go click around their site and download all the adorable FREE things, at least, because they are GOOD.

I’m planning a good book review for next week as well (Two planned posts for next week? Who do I think I am?) BUT I wanted to tell you guys about how I finished The Good Girl by Mary Kubica and it was really, really good. I won’t say I technically “read” it, because I listened to it on Audible but I would definitely recommend The Good Girl if you are in to mystery-type books that aren’t quite as twisted as Gillian Flynn’s books. Shiver.

My Shopbop Friends and Family purchases came in earlier this week and I think I made some good choices if I do say so myself 😉 My favorite would have to be this navy Deux Lux Bucket Bag, but my new grey Converse and navy BB Dakota Shift Dress aren’t too shabby either!

Maybe this makes me the weirdest person on the planet but I feel like I’ve been waiting for this DVD release for my entire life. OMG I’m obsessed with this movie. I’ve attempted to watch it twice this week already. I really can’t be sure why but I just can’t get enough. #nerdalert

It’s about that time…time to settle on and buy 2016’s planner. I used the Erin Condran Life Planner for years but this year I went with Whitney English’s Day Designer and as much as I like it, it’s just too bulky and frankly the price tag just hurts this time of year. Amanda talked about her faves yesterday but I would love to know what version you all use! Let me know in the comments.

Hope you all have a fab fall weekend!
